Business Development Manager (Washington, DC)

Description

Ecosave, an energy efficiency company, is in expansion mode and growing into several key new markets. Backed by a prominent private equity firm, Ecosave is looking for a highly driven business development manager with a track record of success selling into C-level executives to join our dynamic team.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

  1. Prospect and network to uncover opportunities to lead to introductory presentations with C-Suite prospects 
  2. Qualify prospects to determine if they’re an appropriate client for Ecosave
  3. Acquire defined financial criteria from prospect and learn their business’ priorities
  4. Liaise with engineering team that will conduct energy and water audits of commercial and industrial buildings to identify energy conservation possibilities
  5. Analyze audit results to guide engineering team to design a business case that meets prospect’s needs
  6. Review and present proposals in line with the prospects approval process
  7. Follow up proposals until close of business
  8. Maintain ongoing relationships to turn first time customers into long term clients
  9. Achieve sales targets

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Experience

  • From prospect to close, track record of outperforming sales goals in a solution
  • C-suite consultative sales process with C-level decision makers
  • Relationship building within an organization
  • Ideally an existing book of previous C-suite clients and relationships to offer the Ecosave business model
  • Sophisticated approach as a trusted advisor in the development of client solutions
  • Acting as quarterback to engage and collaborate with teams within your own organization
  • Executive polish and sales acumen

Skills

  • Ability to generate leads and convert them into sales
  • Understand, clearly articulate and sell sophisticated project financing options
  • Motivated self-starter with natural relationship building skills
  • Ability to converse and deal with people at all levels, including C-suite
  • Schedule and prioritize tasks with a rigorous approach to getting initiatives done
  • Work unsupervised/individually and within a team structure
  • Team player looking to win as an organization and share best practices
  • Analytical, able to uncover prospect needs and device solutions to address them
  • Take a lead role where required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel & Outlook
