Vice President, Engineering (New York City)

Position Summary

The Director of Engineering works with our Project Management and Procurement, The Smart Buildings and with building contractors’ team, consultants, and customers to develop and design renewable energy projects within commercial and industrial sites. Peer review and teamwork are employed to deliver projects using a combination of engineering knowledge and experience, creative solutions, and construction management experience. Strong design and field experience will be used to create optimal solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for all activities of the engineering team and technical project development
  • Responsibility for delivering the savings guarantee for all projects
  • Approval of savings and cost calculations
  • Responsible for the engineering solutions as submitted in bids and proposals
  • Source and validate new technology to deliver energy and water savings
  • Review and approve engineering content for large bids and direct sales proposals
  • Performance reviews and career planning for team
  • Development of team skills and continuous professional development
  • Recruitment of team members
  • Maximize resource utilization
  • Create efficiency improvements in team operations
  • Quality and compliance control of engineering department
  • Maintain client relationships in a supervisory and technical oversight role
  • Help to grow the business

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Qualifications

  • PE Certification preferred
  • College degree, Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline

Experience

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and other Windows products
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project financial reporting
  • Prior experience in Construction, HVAC and/or Mechanical Systems
  • Prior experience with Building Automation Systems
  • Prior experience in energy savings calculations and energy modeling
